I’ll never forget sitting on a bench outside the hospital the day after my daughter was born when a life-changing realization came over me. I looked around during rush hour hustle and realized that … wait for it…this is gonna blow your mind… EVERY PERSON WAS BORN! Shocker, I know. It sounds utterly ridiculous to say that out loud but all of a sudden human beings existing on planet earth took on an entirely new meaning once I became a mother. Every single person came from somewhere and someone! Every single story is a miracle. The process of birthing a whole new person into the world brings to the surface some of the most intense and transformative emotions we may ever feel. I believe there’s beauty in it all: the joy, connection and wonder but also the pain and struggle, because these are all core parts of being human.
